Noreen Kokoruda has served as state representative for the 101st District for 10 years. She presently serves on the Education, Appropriation, Children’s, and Planning and Development Committees.  She also was chosen as Deputy Republican Leader At-Large by the leadership. Prior to serving in the General Assembly, Noreen was involved in community service for more than 30 years.


Over the past years she has served as chairman of the Madison Beach and Recreation Commission and Secretary of the Scranton Library Board of Directors. Noreen was elected to serve on the Board of Selectmen for 14 years. Professionally, she served for almost 15 years as the Executive Director of the Shoreline Foundation. Noreen has served as a member of several caucuses and task forces, including Coastal Resiliency, Water Safety, Tourism and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.


Noreen has worked to give a voice to small towns, provide new laws for people with dyslexia, education of all special need students, autism programs, anti-vaping and smoking, and school safety. Noreen has lived in Madison for 40 plus years, raising her sons there and now she and her husband are enjoying their five grandchildren.
